Privacy & Security
Are my PDF files uploaded to any server?
No, never. All processing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript
(pdf-lib). Your files never leave your device and never touch any server. Not ours, not
anyone else's.
Is it safe to process confidential documents?
Yes. Since everything runs locally in your browser, no one else can see your files. It's as
safe as opening a file in a desktop app — arguably safer than emailing it somewhere.
Do you store any data about me?
We may collect anonymised page view counts (no personal data). No file contents, names, or
personal details are ever collected. See our Privacy Policy for

Using the Tools
Does it work on mobile?
Yes! All tools are optimised for both mobile and desktop. You can upload, process, and
download PDFs directly from your phone or tablet.
Can I use it offline?
Once the page is loaded, the PDF processing itself works offline (since it runs in your
browser). However, you need an internet connection to load the page
initially (for the CSS, fonts, and libraries from CDN).
Is there a file size limit?
There's no enforced limit, but very large files (100MB+) may be slow since everything runs
in the browser. Performance depends on your device's RAM and CPU. Most PDFs (under 50MB)
work perfectly.
Which browsers are supported?
All modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari (desktop and mobile).
Internet Explorer is not supported. For best results, use the latest version of Chrome or
Firefox.
Why does my tool output look slightly different from expected?
Some PDFs use embedded fonts, complex layers, or security features that are difficult to
handle in a browser. Tools like Watermark and Bookmarks
use standard fonts to ensure compatibility. If you encounter issues, try a less complex PDF
or let us know.
Specific Tools
Can I unlock a password-protected PDF?
Yes, if you know the password. Our Unlock tool removes the password from
the PDF after you enter it. We cannot crack or bypass unknown passwords — that would be
insecure and illegal.
Will Merge PDF preserve bookmarks and links?
Internal links and hyperlinks in the source PDFs are generally preserved. However, complex
cross-document bookmarks may not carry over perfectly due to browser security limitations.
How many tools are available?
